   Wake up, Marantz PM6003 is a good amp. The ONLY weak part of
   this system are the Chord Crimson Plus Interconnects. I shouldn’t
   really divulge my secrets but ‘QED Qunex 4s’ on ebay for £20-30
   would add about 50% in sound quality to this system! Don’t believe
   me try it. I have tried hundreds of components and cables over many
   years and I know.

   No disrespect mate but you should take What Hi-Fi’s reviews with a pinch of salt. The biggest advertisers get the best reviews in most cases. Don’t waste your money on expensive speaker cables or interconnects either. A good quaility cable like Van Damme at about £3 p/m is more than adequate.

   Love Marantz BTW and I’m sure those Mission’s sound good (though YouTube don’t do them justice!) but I could not live with those grills in my front room. .

   i ditched my old mini stack system and went out and bought a denon amp and cd combination ,cambridge audio dab radio , teac tape deck, project turntable and Bose 251 speakers

   I have owned hifi seperates for 20yrs and my brother works
   for Richer Sounds so I get the chance to listen to many CD
   players. Marantz CD6003 and 6004 are astonishing, it’s
   really hard to believe these are £300 players, I tell you 6003/4
   are as good as most £1,000 players. In fact I’d say they sound
   better than NAD C565BEE costing £600. As I said I was astonished
   when I first heard the 6003 about how it could cost so little! It really
   changed my views and now I ditched NAD for Marantz KI Lite.

    Still get more detail with a better amp. The marantz is ok but my old hitachi you could hear the kick/bass drum clearly and intrumentation was better

    Real nice speakers, sound reviews are bit weird since we are actually hearing the playback quality of your camera once youtube has its way with it. Hope your still happy with your setup.

    out of your system when it comes to sound quality

    speakers do about 70%
    your cd player 20%
    your amp 9%
    and cable 1%

    Most HiFi magazines in UK are diabolical, and have been incredibly biased (paid off) for years.
    That said, they do have a ‘blind’ listening test with a group of folks. But all too common, there is no long listen, it’s an immediate wow factor that gets good reviews. These items then tend to get fatiguing over time.
    What HiFi in particular gives extra stars for having lots of I/O and buttons and things to play with – which do nothing, but can degrade the quality.

    the mission mx3 speakers are a must,, this hifi set up is worth ya hard earned pound, quid, dollar, great sonic display mobile sound not to good buy marantz and mx3 really bring music to life,,, spend bit on cables to guys,,, chord crimsonplus and qed, thor, all good check what hifi mag reveiws before you buy if its shit there will say its bad if good are 5 stars award there will give it reward,, enjoy,, thats my jazz, 80s, rnb, killers, u2, kate perry sorted ha ha linkin park, mowtown ha
