Part 1: (How To) Set Up PSU + Car Amp/Subwoofer In Home (Re-Do Video) NOTE: Doing this set up will obviously be at your own risk, I haven’t ran into any prob…
If you have the Green and one of the Black connected to together or jumped like I have it. It should power on the Amp regardless if you have your Amp powered or not.
K i cut my green n black n its not making the fan go do i need to hook the amp and all up to get fan working well power supply working ??
Yupp they are pretty small. I’m using 3 now and it is of course best to use as much as possible.
1 thin cable for the positive and negative connection for the amp? Those cables seem like a pretty small gauge for the current being used…
I’d go with something at least 600 Watts+ for powering up an Amp. A 350 Watt PSU can power it up and people have done it, but I’d rather spend just a bit more to be sure.
will a 350w PSU power a 350w RMS car amp?
ok guys all you have to do is splice the 3 yellow 3 black and the red and blue wires, the connect the red and blue to turn on the psu and how up all the yellows to the + and all the blacks to the -. and that’s really it ill make a vid about it if you guys want
Hmm it should turn the Fan on. Try a new jumper and make sure it’s secure and see if it works. If not either it doesn’t work on that PSU or something is just bad on it.
Mine won’t turn on when I put the green and black together what’s wrong
Yup that’s actually what I have right now! I have 3 Grounds (Blacks) & 3 Yellows (Power) and it works great! Yeah it will give you more power and put less risk of burning the cables of just having one.
Hey bro can i cut 3 black and 3 yellow insteed of 1 black and 1 yellow.. I think it will give you more power is that right ??
Yeah that should work with your Amp and Subs. I would just try it with one sub first and see how it goes then try it with two subs. If it shuts off then you might need a 2nd PSU to boost up the power.
hey can i use a LOGISYS Computer PS480E12 480W ATX12V Power Supply to connect to a 600watt cobalt amp to 2 12″ kicker comps?
Nice! Yeah I got a couple people that told me about that! Haha at the moment I don’t need to but maybe someone else on here might want to know!
oh I just used an old xbox 360 power supply……. btw pm me if you want to know how!!
That is a way too!
you can get a 4 channel amplifier and bridge the subwoofer and you have 2 connections left or your speakers.
Because all I have set up is a Subwoofer, you can also get a separate Amp to power up speakers for vocals or highs.
Why do you only get bass is there a way to have bass and hear the music
Ahh I see, yeah then 2 PSUs should probably get the job done!
yea it’s abit of power, but I only want 300rms X1 at 4 ohms, I don’t need more than that inside of a house, there is really no point
It’d be pretty cool to have all the wires crimped into a ring terminal but I’m not too sure if it still works as well or not. Damn you’re going to need a lot of power for that amp!
what about the fact that all the ground wires on just my 1 psu barely fits? could I just say crimp them all onto a ring terminal etc? im trying to run a 1600watt monoblock, 300wrms X2 at 4ohm and 480wrms X1 at 2ohm, its also dual 25amp fuses
I got that from a Power switch in a desktop that was laying around but now I changed it to a thicker power cable now. You can probably find these online or in store for cheap.
oh okay where did you get the power cable to link the green and black
