   I bought a pair of these for my front L and R along with the Polk CS-10 center (I also have a Polk sub). The sound is great! Those that said that they take a little breaking in were right. I’ve had them for a month or so now, and have given them some moderate use. Just last night while watching a DVD I noticed just how nice they sound. I will probably buy the OW3′s for my rear L and R soon.

   listened to just about every speaker in this price range and bang for the buck these things took the cake. They sound better than mayny speakers costing much more (Bose did not even come close. Bose are great for the size, but lack midbass and their subs are not great). They have very clear high to upper mid range, but they are light on the lower mid and obviously the bass, which they are not designed for. I have them as my side seakers in a 7.1 system with a Denon 1911 receiver, TSI300 Rear, CS20 center, PSW 505 sub, and the tSI 500 fronts, and it sounds amazing. A couple of my firends that spend far more are very jellous, which is always nice. At first I was disapointed, but apparently they require a break in period and after playing them for a few days fairly regularily, they came around nicely. I am very happy with my purchase decision. As I said, you can get better speakers, but you will be paying far more.

   I also tested the OWM3, which also sound great, and are much cheaper, but the higher efficiency (Put out more sound per wattage), and the verall sound quality on the OWM5′s made the extra money good for me.

   For the last 7 years, we’ve had the entry-level Polk satellites+sub; but the placement of the front right & left speakers wasn’t optimal since I basically had to hang them from the ceiling. I finally updated my receiver to a newer unit that supports HDMI and that gave me the itch to replace my speakers as well. This brought me back to the original problem that I faced in this room of how hard it is to fit good speakers.

   Fortunately for me; I came across these and they fit into my space perfectly. I was able to mount the right speaker in the corner and the left speaker was mounted on the wall – both point into the room at a 45 degree angle. The design of these couldn’t be better! They fit into the room better than the small 3.25″ satellites did, yet they sound much richer and fuller. Several sales people acted like these might sound just a ‘little better’, but let me say that they were full of it and these blow the smaller satellites out of the water! I know there are lots of speakers that sound better if you want to spend a fortune, but these sound great if you want to get good speakers without spending a lot of money.

   Originally, I bought three of these so I could use one as a center channel as well – but, for some reason, the OWM5 didn’t work as well in the center. What I ended up going with was two OWM5′s for the left and right, a Definitive Technology ProCenter 2000, and two Polk TC60i’s for the rear satellites. Overall, the system sounds absolutely amazing!

   The auto setup on my Denon receiver set the crossover on these at 80Hz. All the other speakers were crossed over at 60Hz, which is probably part of the reason these didn’t work great as a center channel.

   The one problem I ran into was the corner mount works better for running the wire out from the wall and into the left speaker since there is a hole and a routing channel on the right side of the mount. For the right speaker, I just drilled a hole under the mount and plugged into the speaker – then I filled around the wire with caulk.

   Overall, I highly recommend these – especially if you have one of those hard-to-fit rooms where bigger speakers just won’t fit.
