"This Best Selling Princeton invention delivers 3D sound from ordinary laptop speakers Tends to SELL OUT VERY FAST! If this is a MUST HAVE product, be sure to Order Now to avoid disappointment!"

Edgar Choueiri, a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Princeton University, has developed a way to play true three-dimensional sound recordings over regular loudspeakers, such as those found in televisions and computer laptops. The technique may one day be used to allow 3D televisions to produce lifelike sound and to help people with certain types of hearing impairments locate noises. Segments of the video above incorporate Choueri’s 3D filter to demonstrate the phenomenon. The filter is designed to work with loudspeakers – not headphones – and can be experienced through standard computer speakers. (Make sure the right and left speakers are on the correct sides.) Did the project get cancelled?

    Any updates on this?

  2. eklipz330 says:

what if we can get the speakers real close to each ear, and lower the volume enough so there is none of this crosstalk? we can call them…. HEADPHONES. i should be in princeton.

  3. Jacob Tyndale says:

is there any other videos with this technology?

  4. Mika Yao says:

Technology may learn to mimicnature, but nature is the origin of all things, therefore technology can NEVER mimic nature. But these inventions are going to be viral for sure :)

  5. Accelerata says:

I think the fact that you’re using two speakers at any time creates the crosstalk effect he talks about, which is definitely true. Unless you explicitly cancel the acoustic waves before they reach the other ear, both ears will get the same input at slightly offset times. That means you can get some direction information, but it will be slightly muddled, and the depth information will be approximate at best. And that matches my experience with 5.1 sweeps in my own sound system; good, not perfect.

  6. joeyTRUTH says:

the very first slide of the video you referred to says “it only works with headphones”. case and point why this 3D audio system is, at the very least, an advancement. you can argue that this system is not superior, but it is unique in its implementation. and to clarify, the “invention” that prof. choueiri is credited with is the design of the optimal crosstalk cancellation filter, which is indeed a novel contribution to the field of 3D audio

  7. joeyTRUTH says:

yeah you can get the sound coming from any direction with surround sound – thats the point of being surrounded by speakers. but with the 3D audio processing shown here, you can add depth to the sound sources, as in how far away from your head the virtual source is. this is not possible with existing, consumer grade surround sound systems. not without some special processing, anyways

  8. Nicolás Arias says:

Is not an invention of Hugo Zuccarelli?

  9. MrTrollKiller21 says:

    He is Lebanese :)

Where i get info about the used algorithm ?

  11. VBProgrammerFreak says:

What you said was not a question, yet you added a ‘?’. Why?

  12. pfaaj1952 says:

    awesome ;D

  13. jamie007pwnz says:

By “3D”, does that mean we hear it anywhere on a plane parallel to the ground? Or could I hear something coming from above or below?

  14. theRAPHSON says:

try listening to virtual barber shop without headphones and see if it works?

  15. bigpurple100 says:

    goodluck i think it’s an achievable tech n I can’t wait

  16. doublebassballz says:

Great, now all we need to do is turn our living rooms into completely isolated anechoic chambers and we’re good to go! :/

  17. krusher00 says:

The point being that sort of process is impossible with current speakers; only headphones (which already do cancel each other out) but if you want to all wear headphones while watching movies then fair enough!

  18. hyperlite3333 says:

    This is incredible.

  19. victor871129 says:

we have two ears we need just two speakers, one for each ear

  20. djeome says:

Hi, I am interested in creating a binaural headset that can be worn while moving around – in nature, spinning while musicians are playing in a circluar formation etc etc (endless list)

Would this work and what mics would be best as I know the mics in this technique are placed within the dummies head and unless I could surgically insert the mikes into my head (not a good idea) I would need a bit of room to hang them/place them next to my ears.

    Please help!

  21. m4ktub says:

this is not new , try the biaural sound demo of the barbershop

  23. SpectreRSG says:

as an audio engineering student… this is otherworldly. this guy could essentially destroy or get -PAID- by THX/ILM.

    Seems legit. Real fucking legit.

  24. acoustic4037 says:

    I can’t hear you…my laptop speakers aren’t loud enough.

  27. TheNorbi80 says:

    Is that my grandma?

  28. iLLpwny0u says:

i still suggest the z623 for that job ^^

  29. Gino Guillermo says:

Does the speaker actually have like a built-in subwoofer? how is the overall sound of the device? does it have an “oomphh” like that of say Bose speakers? does it feel like you are in a theatre or a big room or something? need advice as i want to buy one this christmas to compliment my tablet whilst i’m in my bed…

  30. Timm Dawg says:

Although I loved this speaker, I have gone thru two in six months (maybe four) because somehow, the left speaker gets blown. I chalked up the first blow out to possible user issues but when the second did the same after 2 months of careful use, I have decided to look elsewhere.

  32. Stacklucker says:

Oi guys: Z623 vs Z506? Which one is better ? Ofcourse if you are just compairing the subwoofer, the Z623 wins, but who is better in music, gaming, movies, price, quality etc?
I would be glad if you coulk leave a small comment for my question, ty :D

I was afraid of not getting good sound from the Z305 but I risked it and wow I loved it. It is very compact and sounds great. I don’t regret at all.

  37. TurkTadim says:

    omg im getting a boner

  38. soboboo says:

Great review! I’ve been doing my research online and narrowed it down to this model. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with this particular model (Z305) and Linux (in particular, Ubuntu). I guess I’ll find out soon enough but if anybody out there can shed some light on Linux compatibility, I’d be greatful. P.S >> You are one sexy lady.

    Hi Lin

    Good presentation.

BUT you should tell your logitech host with the most exec, that it isn’t fair to allow fake finalists to the finals.

    Nobody can understand that.

At the other hand Logitech censor comments, that’s against the people. There were two buddies who made Logitech movies for your company with thousands of views.

We’re living in a ocean of people and these ocean is very angry about what the logitech exec did with the real winners of this contest.

    Re-elect these people.
